Don’t Get Too Excited About That ‘Will & Grace’ Revival Just Yet

Buzz surrounding a potential revival of Will & Grace continues to grow thanks to frequent guest star Leslie Jordan’s recent comments seemingly confirming a 10-episode order at NBC. Back in December, the comedian told San Diego radio station KPBS that the hit show would return next season, with episodes going into production in July.

But while NBC has yet to chime in on Jordan’s comments, W&G star Debra Messing attempted to manage fans’ expectations Monday via Twitter writing,  “Sadly Leslie was wrong,” the actress tweeted. “Nothing beyond talks.”

Appetite for a revival was first sparked back in October when the show’s cast—Messing, Eric McCormack, Megan Mullally and Sean Hayes—reprised their roles in a pro-Clinton video that went viral after the first presidential debate. At the time McCormack told The Hollywood Reporter that there was “no official talk” of an ongoing revival, though Messing said she would “never say never,” suggesting that a limited series on a different platform might be a better fit for a post-network Will & Grace: “I don’t believe we would ever come back to network [TV] again.”

Still, Messing’s latest tweets leave hope for a series resurrection alive in the age of the reboot.
