CBS Orders Full Season of New Comedy ‘Life in Pieces’
Life in Pieces has become whole.
CBS has given the new family sitcom a full season order, adding nine more episodes to its previous 13-episode order (bringing the total to 22). The pickup is a vote of confidence for the show as it prepares to move next week to Thursday nights.
Life in Pieces has averaged 10.3 million viewers so far this fall, airing in the plum slot behind The Big Bang Theory on Mondays. Both shows are moving to Thursday on Nov. 5 (making room for Supergirl on Monday nights).
“Life in Pieces, with one of the best ensemble casts on television, is telling terrific stories in a very unique way,” says CBS Entertainment president Glenn Geller.
Dianne Wiest, James Brolin, Zoe Lister-Jones, Colin Hanks, Angelique Cabral, Thomas Sadoski, Betsy Brandt, Dan Bakkedahl, Niall Cunningham, Holly J. Barrett and Giselle Eisenberg star. Justin Adler, Aaron Kaplan, Jason Winer and Jeff Morton are executive producers, while 20th Century Fox TV is the studio.

CBS previously picked up freshman drama Limitless for a full season, and gave an order for six additional scripts to Code Black. CBS will wait for more data on Code Black and Supergirl (which just premiered Monday) before determining additional episodic orders on those two shows.
