Fox Orders Courteney Cox-Led Comedy Pilot ‘Charity Case’

Courteney Cox may be returning to television.
Fox has ordered a pilot for Charity Case, a single-cam comedy which Cox will star in/executive produce. This would mark Cox’s first series regular role since Cougar Town ended in 2015. (She’s also appearing in the upcoming tribute to James Burrows with several of her Friends costars.)
Charity Case, written by Robert Padnick (Man Seeking Woman/The Office), follows a widow, Hailey (Cox), who inherits her billionaire husband’s charity. Unfortunately for Hailey, “changing the world is far less glamorous than she had imagined.”
The pilot will be directed/executive produced by Episodes‘ James Griffiths. ABC Studios and 20th Century Fox Television are the studios behind the comedy.
