Mickey Mouse Returns in New Disney Junior Series ‘Mickey and the Roadster Racers’ (VIDEO)
Mickey Mouse will turn 88 on Friday, November 18, but he’s hardly showing his age. In fact, the feisty little guy is about to star in an all-new Disney Junior series Mickey and the Roadster Racers (premiering in January), a high-octane adventure for preschoolers in which Mickey and his pals Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Daisy and Donald take part in an array of madcap races around the globe.
The gang’s vehicles are uniquely personalized: Mickey drives a classic American hot rod, while Minnie gets an elegant, French-inspired 1930s zoomer and Goofy, being Goofy, designs his car from an assortment of plumbing parts. When not racing, Minnie and Daisy will run their own successful business as “The Happy Helpers” (think Lucy Ricardo and Ethel Mertz!). But it’s not just fun and games. The series, aimed at kids 2 to 7, combines CG animation and live action to impart social and emotional lessons about friendship, teamwork, optimism and good sportsmanship.
