Kelly Clarkson to Honor Dolly Parton With 2022 ACM Awards Tribute Performance
Pour yourself a cup of ambition, and get ready for a show. Kelly Clarkson will honor Dolly Parton with a special tribute performance at the 57th Academy of Country Music Awards on March 7.
Clarkson announced her upcoming tribute performance during The Kelly Clarkson Show on February 23, saying she’s “stoked.”
“I’m sure Dolly and I will have a lot to talk about when she’s a guest on the show in a few weeks,” she said. “I love her so much. We actually got to recut her song ‘9 to 5.’ It’s a blessing to get to sing with such a pioneer of a woman.”
Clarkson and Parton’s new version of “9 to 5” was made exclusively for the Still Working 9 to 5 documentary premiering at the South by Southwest Film Festival on March 13. Clarkson previously covered “9 to 5” to promote The Kelly Clarkson Show in 2019.
Parton will host the ACM Awards live from Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium, which will make history as the first major awards show to be exclusively livestreamed. The 2022 ACM Awards livestream will begin at 8 pm ET/7 pm CT/5 pm PT on Amazon Prime Video.
Clarkson is the latest addition to the long list of performers at the event. Parton and Kelsea Ballerini will perform a duet. Co-hosts Gabby Barrett and Jimmie Allen will take the stage. And other confirmed performers include Jason Aldean, Breakthrough Artist for Amazon Music, BRELAND, Kane Brown, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Jordan Davis, Brittney Spencer, Carrie Underwood, Chris Stapleton, Walker Hayes, Maren Morris, Brothers Osborne, Parmalee, and Blanco Brown featuring Brooke Eden, Carly Pearce and Ashley McBryde, Thomas Rhett, and Chris Young featuring Mitchell Tenpenny.
The ACM Awards, which honor the biggest names and emerging artists in country music, will air over two hours with no commercial interruptions. Audience members at The Kelly Clarkson Show on February 23 were gifted with tickets to the event.
