‘Fleabag’ Star Phoebe Waller-Bridge Sets New Series at Prime Video
Fleabag‘s Emmy darling Phoebe Waller-Bridge is gearing up for her latest series with Prime Video as the streamer greenlit her next project.
According to Deadline, the series will start shooting at the end of this year as details about the show’s premise remain under wraps. Waller-Bridge, who has also penned titles ranging from the first season of Killing Eve to the most recent James Bond flick, No Time to Die, signed an overall deal with Amazon Studios in 2019.
This upcoming series is part of the three-year agreement with the company which produced her Emmy-winning hit Fleabag. Airing for a mere two-season run, Fleabag is still part of the pop culture conversation as Waller-Bridge introduced viewers to Andrew Scott‘s now-iconic “hot priest.”
Waller-Bridge was previously supposed to collaborate with Donald Glover on an adaptation of Mr. & Mrs. Smith which would reimagine the premise of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt‘s 2006 film of the same name. The actress and writer exited the project later last year in September of 2021.
Meanwhile, Waller-Bridge is set to feature in the fifth installment of the Indiana Jones franchise alongside Harrison Ford, which is reportedly in post-production. Among her other television credits are Crashing, HBO‘s Run with Merritt Wever and Domhnall Gleeson, as well as His Dark Materials which reunited her with Scott.
Stay tuned for the upcoming series that has yet to announce a title or story as Waller-Bridge gets to work on it at Prime Video. And catch up with Fleabag by streaming both seasons now on the platform.
