Black Sails’ pirates of the Caribbean vanquished their British oppressors last season, but they have new brutal enemies to fight in the Starz drama’s fourth and final season, premiering January  29.

Chief among them: Captain Berringer, “the leader of a contingent of British soldiers who remained in Nassau to take revenge against the pirates,” says executive producer Jon Steinberg. The new foe is played by Chris Larkin (above left, with Luke Roberts and Hannah New), who, we can exclusively reveal, provides the oft-discussed voiceover on the Season 4 trailer. He’s also the real-life brother of Toby Stephens (Captain Flint) and the son of Dame Maggie Smith. “Berringer is tasked by the Nassau governor to reestablish the rule of law and order,” says Larkin. “Justice will be swift and violent.”
