‘AGT’: See Flirty Sofía Vergara Embrace Being Single (VIDEO)
A week after Howie Mandel called attention to Sofía Vergara‘s recent divorce from Joe Manganiello, the Modern Family alum embraced her single status on Tuesday’s (August 29) episode of America’s Got Talent.
The moment came during stand-up comedian Ahren Belisle’s performance, which included a flirty joke that caught Vergara’s attention.
Belisle, who has cerebral palsy and uses a text-to-speech app to deliver his jokes, told his service dog to “fetch me a girlfriend,” pointing towards Vergara and fellow judge Heidi Klum. “Go fetch Sofía Viagra,” he continued. “Oh, no, damn autocorrect. I meant Sofía Vergara.”
He finished his performance by listing off his goals, saying, “Okay, make funny jokes. Check. Hit on Sofía. Check. Brought dog out for bonus votes. Check. Perfect. That’s my time. Love you all.”
The judges had high praise for Beslisle’s performance, with Vergara saying, “I love the way you look at life. I love that that is what makes you so funny, that you make fun of yourself, and you’re so, like, happy with yourself.”
Klum then asked Vergara if she’d ever been called “Sofía Viagra” before.
“They’ve called me like that before,” Vergara said before turning to the camera and saying, “But… I’m single.”
Mandel made a similar quip last week after 12-year-old ventriloquist Brynn Cummings tried to set up Klum with one of her puppets. Mandel said Cummings should have picked Vergara instead, given her recent single status.
“I have one word of advice. If you’re looking for eligible bachelors, you should have talked to Sofía because she’s in the market right now,” Mandel joked.
Vergara and Manganiello announced the end of their seven-year marriage in July.
“We have made the difficult decision to divorce,” the famous pair said in a joint statement. “As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.”
