Play the TV Food Shows Crossword (Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart)
Everett Collection

Food and television have always been quite the pair. TV dinner, anyone? Since we were all kids, we’ve gotten cozy in front of the tube countless times with a heated meal wrapped in aluminum. It was convenient for our parents to make, and conveniently fit on a TV tray table! Mom and Dad could have supper set up for everyone in time to sit down for the evening news. And just as with other genres, like Westerns, variety shows, sitcoms, soaps and cop dramas, we’ve been able to watch cooking shows since the beginning of TV (actually, cooking programs were on the radio long before!). The first to be broadcast in the U.S. was I Love to Eat with James Beard, but that lasted just under a year from 1946-47. The first cooking show that captivated a large and loyal audience was The French Chef. Hosted by Julia Child, it ran for 10 years on PBS starting in 1963, and you can still catch those classic episodes on free streaming services like Pluto TV and Tubi. Other food show icons include Martha Stewart, Emeril LagasseRachael Ray, and Anthony Bourdain, just to name a few. Play the TV food shows crossword below. Bon appétit!
