One of the fun parts of creating Puzzler categories are the conversations that get started in the office. There is lots of arguing (in a respectful manner!) over inclusion of shows and stars, and even more animated discussions where we wax nostalgic for all the great shows we grew up with. And for this category, 1970s TV Crushes? Well, I wouldn’t brook any argument against my all-time favorite crush: Jaclyn Smith from Charlie’s Angels. I had already tussled with one of my brothers back in 1976 when Smith, Farrah Fawcett and Kate Jackson burst onto ABC’s Wednesday night lineup and ended their first season as the fifth-most-watched show. He liked Fawcett, I liked Smith, and our mom was kind enough to buy each of us, from Kmart, a T-shirt with a picture of our favorite Angel. He got Farrah in that famous one-piece red swimsuit. I got Smith, a little more covered up, and holding a red rose. (For the record, Valerie Bertinelli from One Day at a Time was my very close second.) There are plenty of other crushes to moon over here, from Davy Jones and David Cassidy to Erik Estrada and both Starsky and Hutch. Play the crossword below.
