‘9-1-1: Lone Star’ Season 5 Trailer: The 126 Faces ‘Poison Cloud of Death’ at Train Derailment (VIDEO)

“Dispatch, we have a problem,” Captain Owen Strand (Rob Lowe) says in the 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5 trailer. And as we can see, that may be an understatement.

The 126 is the first on the scene of a train derailment, and they’re dealing with chlorine gas. As the trailer, which you can watch below, shows, Wyatt (Jackson Pace, promoted to series regular) is now a dispatcher, plus the 126 is going to be in serious danger.

When 9-1-1: Lone Star returns for its fifth season, with the premiere on Monday, September 23 at 8/7c, Owen, Captain Tommy Vega (Gina Torres), and the rest of the 126 race into action in a multi-episodic opening storyline with that catastrophic train derailment that endangers several lives, including some of their own.

When TV Insider spoke with Lowe in May, he raved about “the scale and spectacle of the train derailment and the arduousness of shooting it. I mean, I love it. I find it really challenging. I love the challenge of it, but it is a brutal, backbreaking grind and I’m like, ‘Yeah, I can do that. Let’s go. I turn 60, let’s f**king go.’ Do you know what I mean? I get off on it, and so the more painful, the crawling, the smoke, the carnage, it’s really fun. And it’s not for everybody. I mean, believe me, I know plenty of actors who are like, ‘I’m not doing that.’ But I love the results of it. I love how big it looks. It looks like a movie. Yeah, I think people are going to be blown away.”

Also coming up in Season 5, with Judd (Jim Parrack) resigning from the 126 to take care of his recently handicapped son Wyatt (Pace), Owen must find a new and has a difficult decision ahead of him when both Marjan (Natacha Karam) and Paul (Brian Michael Smith) apply for the promotion.  On the personal side, Tommy is ready to take the next step in her relationship, but she finds the road to happiness is filled with obstacles. On his 30th birthday, T.K. (Ronen Rubinstein) gets a surprise visit from someone from his past that could change his and Carlos’ (Rafael Silva) lives forever. Plus, T.K. and Carlos’ marriage is put to the test when Carlos becomes obsessed with solving his father’s murder. The series also stars Julian Works and Brianna Baker.
