Will Julie Chrisley Walk Free From Prison? Why Daughter Savannah Has Doubts

Julie Chrisley will appear in court next month for her resentencing, potentially leading to her early release from prison. However, her daughter, Savannah Chrisley, isn’t holding out hope.

Speaking on the latest episode of her Unlocked podcast, Savannah said she has been trying not to get her hopes up too much because “things have not gone our way” in her parents’ legal battle.

“That’s the only dreams that I’ve had recently. It’s just [Julie] coming home and her being at home to the point that, like, I wake up and I’m kind of, like, disoriented. I’m like, ‘Wait. What is happening?’ Because it feels so real,” Savannah shared, per People.

She continued, “And I’m trying not to get my hopes up because, let’s face it, a lot of things within this legal battle have not gone our way. So I expect the worst, and anything else that is better than that is a win.”

Julie is currently serving a seven-year federal prison sentence at FMC Lexington after she and her husband, Todd Chrisley, were convicted in 2022 for bank fraud and tax evasion. Todd is serving his 10-year sentence at the Federal Prison Camp in Pensacola, Florida.

An appeals court heard arguments for why the Chrisleys should have their sentences overturned back in June. The court accepted Julie’s appeal after a three-judge panel found there was insufficient evidence that Julie was involved with her husband‘s bank fraud scheme since its conception in 2006. However, Todd’s conviction was upheld.

Savannah has previously talked about hoping to have her mom home in time for Thanksgiving, but she is keeping her expectations low due to how things apparently always go against her parents. Earlier this week, a judge denied Julie’s request to attend her resentencing court date remotely.

Despite being “given a really crappy hand of cards” and having a “rough time” during her parents’ imprisonment, Savannah said she will never give up fighting for them.

“So I am going to continue to see this through. I’m going to continue to see that the people that were involved in our case are held responsible,” the reality star stated.

She added, “I hope and pray that mom and dad come home. I hope and pray that I have the ability to make lasting change. I know that I’m working with my lawyers and another group of people to put some initiatives in place that I have come up with.”
