Nick Dorka might be the first Love Is Blind contestant slated to become a villain who turned his character arc around and became a fan favorite instead. Starting with some superficial jokes, the 29-year-old, who says he doesn’t have a physical type, was deemed not ready for a serious commitment. That was quickly proven to be just a front. His humor doesn’t always translate well, but he seems to be a good guy at heart.

Nick fell in love with Hannah Jiles in the pods, and they were one of the couples to get engaged and head to Mexico. The reality star is no stranger to the spotlight due to his past career in athletics. As Love Is Blind Season 7 continues, here’s what you need to know about Nick.

Where is Nick from?

Nick is from Vienna. No, not the city in Austria that’s the home of Mozart. He’s from a small down in Virginia.

Being from the Old Dominion State, Nick never lived that far from D.C. It is just a half-hour car drive, so Nick’s well-acquainted with the D.C. dating pool. Maybe that’s why he decided to jump into the experience of Love Is Blind.

Having a tattoo of both the American and Cuban flag, it is presumed that he has Cuban heritage.

Nick currently appears to still be living in Virginia. Nick also captioned one of his Instagram posts with “2nd home” and tagged Miami, Florida.

What does Nick do for a living?

He is a real estate agent and uses his social media platforms to promote his business, often capturing photos with the buyers of the properties he’s selling.

Nick mentioned that he really enjoys the profession but confessed to Hannah that he’s not necessarily in the best financial situation right now. Opening up to his match, he said, “Real estate isn’t something you get into and start making six figures… This year has been a little tough.”

Where did Nick play football?

Nick and Hannah connected about football in the pods. Reliving their high school glory days, the kicker and former cheerleader brought the topic into their conversations quite a few times.

So where did he play? Starting his career at James Madison High School in Virginia, he distinguished himself there as a three-year varsity letter winner as a kicker and punter. Not ending his track record there, he proceeded to play the sport he loves at the College of William & Mary.

His journey as a D1 athlete was somewhat limited. He redshirted his freshman year and unfortunately got a significant injury that sidelined him for most of his senior season. Yet, he was still able to have some stellar performances during his time there.

His accolades include a first-team All-America Honors, second-team All-America selection by the Associated Press, and All-CAA first-team honoree.

As his college journey was ending, he decided to not actively pursue a career in the NFL. He did mention that he played in the XFL and CFL. Nick’s XFL career is nowhere to be found, but he does have a CFL player profile.

This was still not the end for him because Nick also played for the Dakota Bucks, an indoor football team, based in Bismarck, North Dakota, in 2022.

Are Nick and Hannah still together?

The tumultuous couple is still engaged by the end of Episode 6. Already having a few issues, it’s unclear if they’ll make it to the altar.

Beginning their pods adventure in a love triangle that involved Nick, Hannah, and Leo Braudy, the duo did not stop having complications once they got out of the closed environment.

In Cabo, Hannah quickly realized that she had some qualms about her new partner. She wrote them down into bullet points and Nick discovered this notepad.

Prior to that, the duck incident also transpired. Nick, playing on a plastic duck, was joined by a random tourist at the resort. This started an argument between him and his new fiancée. “That’s something I do, and so if you are going to accept me as your partner, I do stupid stuff like that sometimes and it was lighthearted,” to TV Insider.

Whether or not they will stay together will be revealed in the next installments.
