What’s Worth Watching: Schitt’s Creek (POP)
Schitt’s Creek, “Our Cup Runneth Over” Wednesday, Feb. 11 10/9c, Pop
Newbie network Pop (formerly TVGN) is keeping the funny in the family with its first scripted series, Schitt’s Creek. Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara, who have been making audiences laugh for decades on SCTV and in the Christopher Guest films, play marrieds Johnny and Moira Rose, who are forced to move their family to the small town of Schitt’s Creek after losing all their money. Hilarity ensues once the Roses adapt to their new lifestyle and get to know some of the eccentric locals, including Roland Schitt (SNL vet Chris Elliott). The jokes are fresh and the chemistry lively, thanks to the rapport between Levy and O’Hara and the influence of Levy’s real-life son, Daniel, who serves as cocreator and executive producer, and who costars as the Roses’ spoiled brat, David. This is one town worth visiting. No Schitt.
