James Franco to Star in Hulu’s 11/22/63

James Franco is heading to Hulu.
The Oscar-nominated actor/writer/director, who most recently starred in the controversial film The Interview, has been cast in the lead role for the new Hulu original series 11/22/63.
The nine-hour event series is based on the popular 2011 novel by Stephen King, who serves as executive producer alongside J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions, Warner Bros. Television and executive producer/writer Bridget Carpenter.
Franco, who is also a producer, will play Jake Epping, a high school English teacher who travels back in time to prevent the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. But that goal is interrupted by his encounters with Lee Harvey Oswald, a romantic interest and the past itself, which is reluctant to change.
A premiere date for 11/22/63 has not yet been announced.
