‘The Walking Dead’ Cast and Crew Tease Season 7 Finale
The Walking Dead Season 7 concludes Sunday, April 2, with a super-sized 85-minute episode, and, naturally, details about the episodes are being kept under wraps.
However, the cast and crew shared what they could with TV Insider ahead of the season’s final installment.
Tom Payne (Jesus): “Tear-jerking. Exciting. Roller coaster. Fulfilling. Heartwarming.”
Lauren Cohan (Maggie): “There might be a little hope.”
Seth Gilliam (Father Gabriel): “There will be blood. Lots of blood. And a lot more action than there was [earlier].”
Alanna Masterson (Tara): “Oh my God. It’s exciting!”
Scott Gimple (showrunner): “It all comes together. Questions are answered. A few more are posed. It builds in intensity until it explodes. The last episode offers everything from the season. It offers action and pathos and even a little romance and humor. I hope the audience feels we have fulfilled all of the stories we set forth.”
Sonequa Martin-Green (Sasha): “Forceful. Enlightening. Enormous. Gut-wrenching. Provoking.”
Greg Nicotero (producer/director of the finale): “It’s one of those episodes that has a little bit of everything. It has thrills and chills and heartache and emotion and love. It’s got great zombies. It’s one of those classic Walking Dead episodes. The show takes departures, and we take risks because after 7 years, we feel an obligation to keep it different.”
