Just because serial killer Joe Carroll (James Purefoy) has been captured doesn’t mean his evil clan of followers have completely disappeared. Tonight’s third season premiere of the Fox drama picks up a year after the events of the Season 2 finale with Joe on death row and FBI agent Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon) celebrating life with a new love. But the honeymoon quickly comes to an end when Ryan and his team discover gruesome crime scenes that strike a familiar chord and ultimately link them back to last year’s baddie Mark Gray (Sam Underwood). The episode is full of shocking twists and scares reminiscent of the show’s early days and lays the foundation for a promising—and bloody—season ahead.
