5 Ways the Bella Twins Are Ruling Outside the WWE Ring
During the Bella Twins’ first stint with WWE they achieved a good amount of success, but it wasn’t until Nikki and Brie returned to the company in 2013 that they took it to another level. The championship duo have made the most of every opportunity. As a result, the sisters have transcended sports entertainment and become a brand all their own.
Here are five ways the Bella Twins are taking over outside the confines of the WWE ring.
Total Divas: This E! Network reality series is the show that turned out to be the perfect vehicle for Nikki, Brie and WWE to reach a new audience. It follows female superstars behind the curtain and ended up becoming a hit, currently in its sixth season. The audience resonated with the struggles of the cast and allowed the women to connect to fans like never before. Along with Natalya and Eva Marie, the Twins have been on it straight through from the start. Nikki is even an executive producer for the recent episodes. Total Divas has been nominated for numerous awards, with the Bellas winning a Women’s Image Award for Outstanding Actress in a Reality Series.
Total Bellas: This Total Divas spinoff series is based on the popularity of the Bella Twins and fascination from viewers about their lives. This series had a different feel to it, not only including them and the goings-on with their significant others Daniel Bryan and John Cena, but other members of the family, like their brother JJ and mother Kathy, were given the spotlight, too. Brie and Nikki have executive producer credits on the inaugural season of the show, which will see its second season scheduled to air later in 2017. Look for that one to follow Brie during her pregnancy and other milestone moments.
Red Carpets: The Bella Twins have become a regular fixture on the red carpet and at awards shows, thanks to WWE and E!’s strong relationship. The two have sat on fashion panels during pre-show and after-party specials in the past for the Academy Awards and the Golden Globe Awards. They have also been presenters for the MTV Europe Awards and Teen Choice Awards, where they have been nominated for Choice Female Athlete. Earlier this year, Nikki served as correspondent for Extra at the Kids Choice Awards, where she also took the stage with husband-to-be and ceremony host John Cena.
YouTube Channel: Nikki and Brie enjoy sharing their happenings, dominating social media on Facebook, Twitter and Snapchat. However, they took it a step further recently, launching their own YouTube channel their own YouTube channel this year. It seems fans can’t get enough of the two, with the channel celebrating half a million subscribers in a matter of months. Nikki and John celebrated with a naked dance video that has so far generated more than 7.2 million views. The channel is updated on the regular with Vlogs entries, banter and Brie’s baby bump.
Birdiebee: In the same vein as the Olsen twins and the Mowry sisters, the Bella Twins have proven themselves business savvy. They have their own solo projects, but have come together to create Birdiebee, which looks to promote feminine health and women’s empowerment. Viewers of Total Divas have gotten a hint of the vision Nikki and Brie have for the brand. It has been a work in progress. However, there will be some sort of fashion component, with the Birdiebee social sites advertising a lingerie line that appears to be more than just underwear, but “panties with a purpose.”
Even though the Bella Twins aren’t on Raw and SmackDown Live every week, they have certainly not left the public eye. Brie is ready to become a mother for the first time, and Nikki has a wedding to plan for. And the two are letting fans in every step of the way of the adventure they call life.
