Mystery is front and center on Dig — even for its stars.

“I literally would come on set every week and say ‘Am I the one that died?’ So many people were dying that it just — yeah, it scared me. I think I made it to the end,” says star Anne Heche.

That unpredictability rules USA’s 10-episode series, which mixes modern murder investigations and ancient conspiracies. “The best part is you have no idea what’s coming next,” says star Jason Isaacs. He and Heche sat down with us to talk more about the show, their action moves and the TV shows they watch when off screen.

The sorority horror story finds the sisters and pledges of Kappa House under siege from a devilish masked serial killer. With at least one murder promised per week, the all-star cast—which includes Jamie Lee Curtis, Emma Roberts (American Horror Story: Freak Show), Lea Michele (Glee), Oliver Hudson (Nashville), Keke Palmer (Masters of Sex) and guest stars Ariana Grande and Nick Jonas—is going to be whittled down in no time.

Scream Queens was unveiled at the network’s upfront presentation earlier this week and joins the rest of Fox’s stable of new shows for the 2015-16 season; among the others soon to debut are Rob Lowe’s Grinder and John Stamos’ Grandfathered.
