What’s Worth Watching: May the Farce Be With Big Bang
The Big Bang Theory, “The Skywalker Incursion” (Thursday, April 2, 8/7c, CBS)
As we’ve learned over the years, nothing’s funnier on The Big Bang Theory than a pop-cultural nerdgasm. (Remember when Sheldon was gifted with a napkin once touched by the late, great Leonard Nimoy?) This time, roomies Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Sheldon (Jim Parsons) find themselves in a galaxy far, far away from their Pasadena digs, as they take a detour from their speaking gig at UC Berkeley to try to sneak onto their idol George Lucas’s Skywalker Ranch. As Yoda might say: “Good idea, this probably is not.”
Fan-boy geekery also disrupts the relationship of Howard (Simon Helberg) and Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) as they squabble over what to do with Wolowitz’s Doctor Who vintage TARDIS. Mediating the conflict: Amy (Mayim Bialik) and Raj (Kunal Nayyar), who suggest settling things over a game of ping pong. Is it ever that easy? Just ask the nearest Time Lord.
