What’s Worth Watching: Louie et Pam

Louie, “A la Carte” (Thursday, April 16, 10:30/9:30c, FX)
Louie (Louis C.K.) might really be TV’s everyman. He’s about to have one of those date nights with raspy-voiced, mini-puma girlfriend Pamela (Pamela Adlon) that we’ve all been through. It starts with a black-and-white artsy French movie (which is boring). Then moves on to an Italian dinner (which is delicious), before ending in crushing disappointment when Louie mentions that Pamela and he should move in together. And that’s not even his lowest moment in the episode: That occurs in the opening when a sudden attack of Louie’s bowels while shopping with his young daughters has all three of them running through downtown New York City trying to make it safely home before the bomb drops. Go on, girls, save yourselves!
