“There is a book that we’re following, so anyone who’s read it kind of already knows,” jokes Yvonne Strahovski about where the buzzy Hulu series might be heading after the highly anticipated Season 1 conclusion.

Strahovski’s Serena Joy plays a major role in the finale, confronting her husband (Joseph Fiennes) and handmaid Offred (Elisabeth Moss) about their clandestine meetings. “I think there was already a lot of lost trust between them,” she says. “He’s stripped away a lot of trust and relationship identity. I think that really serves the bitterness that she has as a character.”

With Season 2 already announced, this finale (which also features a life-altering reveal for Offred) feels like just the beginning. O. T. Fagbenle, who plays Offred’s exiled husband, Luke, is excited to see it expanded. “I want the series to answer some of the millions of questions I have on the book.”
