ABC’s ‘American Idol’ Announces Audition Dates, Cities
The elements of ABC’s revival of the former Fox hit American Idol have been slowly falling into place since the network officially announced the show’s return in May. We don’t yet know if Ryan Seacrest will return as host when the new season debuts in 2018, but we do know that Katy Perry will be on hand as one of the judges.
Of course, the biggest pieces the show needs are its singing competitors, and that’s where all of you hopefuls out there come into play.
American Idol has announced upcoming auditions for the new season beginning later this summer (Katy Perry herself made the announcement via a video message on Monday’s Good Morning America.)
In-person auditions will take place across the country during the American Idol bus tour, and there will also be open auditions in a couple of cities. Online auditions are also being accepted. Eligibility requirements for potential competitors can be read here (unfortunately for us old-timers, the upper age range to be a competitor is 28). You can also sign up for Idol audition alerts.
