3AM, “A Night is a Living Thing” (Thursday, May 28, 11/10c, Showtime)
They say that New York is the city that never sleeps. If that’s true, then what exactly is everyone doing in the middle of the night? Showtime explores the question in 3AM, a new docu-series premiering tonight that follows five of the movers and shakers in NY nightlife.
You may have heard of a few of these guys. Kirill’s a party photographer, known for his decidedly NSFW-website kirillwashere.com, featuring female revelers letting very loose. Josh, better known as “The Fat Jew,” is an online celebrity, whose humorous, boundary-pushing Instagram posts rack up hundreds of thousands of likes.
Come for the over-the-top shenanigans of those guys, but stay for the exploits of the folks you don’t know, like Marcus, a doorman who works in drag, or Samantha, an aspiring pro photographer who pays the bills by working as an escort. What, you thought a show called 3AM was going to be wholesome?
