Rocket’s Back! Your Favorite Raccoon Gets Animated on ‘Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy’ (VIDEO)

He swears he’s not a raccoon, and since he’s heavily armed, we aren’t going to argue with him. Rocket Raccoon is joining the rest of the his gang of interplanetary adventurers in the new animated series Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, premiering next month on Disney XD. The cartoon features the breakout characters showcased in last summer’s blockbuster live-action film of the same name.
A new promo spotlighting the feisty four-legged mercenary will debut on the network on Monday, Aug. 17 (during an episode of Star vs. the Forces of Evil) and we’ve got an exclusive first look that should get fans “hooked on a feeling.”
Trevor Devall voices Rocket (taking over for Bradley Cooper, who played the role in the Guardians movie), starring alongside Kevin Michael Richardson as his tree-like pal Groot, Will Friedle (Peter Quill/Star-Lord), Vanessa Marshall (Gamora) and David Sobolov (Drax the Destroyer)
The first episode of Guardians of the Galaxy gets a special sneak preview on Saturday, Sept. 5 at 9/8c on Disney XD before the series officially launches three weeks later on Sept. 26 (9:30/8:30c).
