Steve McQueen Turns Up the Heat on ‘Chicago Fire’: First Look at the New Recruit (PHOTO)
Firehouse 51 has a new candidate, and he immediately wins the “how to annoy Chief Boden” award. Steven R. McQueen (The Vampire Diaries) plays firefighter-in-training Jimmy Borrelli (center, with Andy Ahrens, left, and Eamonn Walker), who arrives at his new gig dumped from a car trunk and wrapped in toilet paper, courtesy of his brother Danny, a practical joker from another firehouse. “We wanted a very different take on a candidate,” executive producer Matt Olmstead says. “Across the board [during casting], everyone said about McQueen, ‘That’s the guy!’”
