‘From Rocky to Creed’ Documentary: Michael B. Jordan on Bringing His “A” Game to the Ring (VIDEO)
Before you head to the movies to watch Creed, the upcoming indirect sequel to the 2006 movie Rocky Balboa, watch the EPIX documentary From Rocky to Creed: The Legacy Continues right at home.
Creed picks up nine years after Rocky Balboa and follows Adonis Johnson Creed (Michael B. Jordan), the son of heavyweight champion Apollo Creed, as an underdog boxer who seeks out Rocky Balboa (Stallone) to train him. The one-hour documentary is narrated by Jordan and focuses on some behind-the-scenes moments of filming.
In addition, various stars of the Rocky franchise—Sylvester Stallone, Carl Weathers (Apollo Creed), Dolph Lundgren (Ivan Drago) and Milo Ventimiglia (who played Robert Balboa, Jr. in Rocky Balboa)—talk about their transformation process of playing heavyweight boxers, and about how the movies impacted them personally and professionally. Director of photography Garret Brown, who worked on the first two Rocky movies, also reveals how he captured an iconic scene that Stallone calls “the shot of my life.”
Before the documentary airs, watch this exclusive clip of Jordan sharing the hardest part about playing Adonis Creed, plus producer Irwin Winkler discussing the skills that go beyond acting.
