Christian Slater Thanks Rami Malek, Reflects on Career Following Golden Globes Win
Christian Slater might have won his first Golden Globe award for portraying the titular character of Mr. Robot, but the Internet was abuzz on Sunday night after he didn’t mention his co-star and fellow Globe nominee Rami Malek in his acceptance speech. Upon arrival to the backstage press room, Slater was quick to address the error.
“I forgot to thank the greatest acting partner I ever had to work with in my life,” Slater told reporters. “I’m phenomenally grateful to Rami Malek. He’s a phenomenal leader and carries the show on his shoulders.”

Slater also reflected on his past failures in television, such as defunct series Breaking In and My Own Worst Enemy, and how they all contributed to finally getting him to the right project. “All those experiences were each in their own way for me personally successes,” Slater admitted. “I loved being a part of those shows and working with all the people I got to meet. But I’m very grateful people responded in this particular way to this show.”
As to how Slater will celebrate his win tonight, he admitted to still being too caught up in the moment to make a decision. “Right now, my body feels like jelly,” Slater said. “I’m just a blabbering idiot, but I’m very grateful, happy and love everybody in the room.”
