USA’s ‘Unsolved’ Cast on Exploring Tupac & Biggie’s Complicated Friendship (VIDEO)
Most people remember the acrimonious relationship between Tupac and Notorious B.I.G.—one that ultimately led to both rappers’ untimely deaths. But in the beginning, they were actually pretty close.
That complicated “friendship” is something USA’s new docudrama, Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G., will explore. TV Insider spoke with Marcc Rose (Tupac), Wavvy Jones (Biggie), and the rest of cast ahead of the February 27 premiere, and they previewed the show’s surprising look into the ’90s superstars.
Josh Duhamel, who plays the LAPD’s Detective Kading—the man charged with leading the task forces investigating both men’s murders—explained how Unsolved dives into the loss of these young icons and how the crimes affected “not only a whole culture of people, but also the families.”
Plus, Rose and Jones open up about the challenge of playing such iconic figures, and Bokeem Woodbine (Officer Daryn Dupree) remembers his time working with Tupac as an young actor.
