New Animated Comedy From ‘Phineas and Ferb’ Duo to Star “Weird Al” Yankovic
For their next project, the guys behind Phineas and Ferb are getting “Weird.”
“Weird Al” Yankovic has signed on to voice the leading character in Disney XD’s upcoming animated series Milo Murphy’s Law, which was created by Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh. The show premieres this fall.
Yankovic will also sing the show’s opening theme and perform other songs throughout the series. The satirist is no stranger to kids’ TV, having starred on CBS’ The Weird Al Show in 1997.

On Milo Murphy’s Law (originally titled Mikey Murphy’s Law), Yankovic plays the fictional great-great-great grandson of the man who inspired the term “Murphy’s Law.” Per Disney XD’s description, “Suffering from Extreme Hereditary Murphy’s Law condition (EHML), Milo always looks to make the best of the cards he’s been dealt and his endless optimism and enthusiasm can turn any catastrophe into a wild adventure.”
Other actors lending their voice to the show include Christian Slater, as Milo’s foe Elliot Decker; Jemaine Clement (Flight of the Conchords) as TV show character Dr. Zone; Vanessa Williams as Eileen Underwood, the mother of Milo’s pal Zack; and Sarah Chalke (Scrubs) as science teacher Mrs. Murawski.
Yankovic’s co-stars are Sabrina Carpenter (Girl Meets World) as Melissa Chase and Mekai Curtis (Kirby Buckets) as Zack.
Povenmire and Marsh, who had voiced characters on Phineas and Ferb, will play “pistachio protectors” Vinnie Dakota and Balthazar Cavendish on Milo.
Other cast members include Mackenzie Phillips (One Day at a Time), Chrissie Fit (Teen Beach Movie), Vincent Martella (Phineas and Ferb), Diedrich Bader (The Drew Carey Show), Pamela Adlon (Louie), Kate Micucci (Garfunkel and Oates), Dee Bradley Baker (Phineas and Ferb), Gregory Michael Cipes (Ultimate Spider-Man), Michael Culross (Phineas and Ferb) and Kevin Michael Richardson (American Dad).
For Milo Murphy’s Law, from Disney Television Animation, Povenmire and Marsh reunited several members of their Phineas and Ferb creative team.
As for Yankovic, the actor has been jumping back into TV in a big way. The music satirist also recently joined IFC’s Comedy Bang! Bang! as the show’s new bandleader.
