A new face is joining Station 19‘s second season.

Dermot Mulroney is set to guest star on the firefighter drama series “in a multiple episode arc on the series,” according to a press release.

Mulroney will be playing a character “who’s back in town after an extended leave — much to the surprise of pretty much everyone who has ever known him.”

“He’s sharp witted, very perceptive, wickedly smart and he can charm his way into and out of almost any situation. He hasn’t always been on the right side of the law, which really affects him, especially in the eyes of his son, police officer Ryan Tanner (Alberto Frezza)!” the network revealed.

Mulroney is no stranger to TV. His past guest roles include stints on New Girl, American Horror Story: Cult, and LA to Vegas.

In other casting news, Code Black alum Boris Kodjoe is also joining Season 2 as a firefighter with a mysterious past.

There’s much to account for when the show returns after its cliffhanger Season 1 finale. Everyone in the Station 19 firehouse was called out for a huge fire in a skyscraper downtown. When the team arrives, they sprint into action right away but the fire is more dangerous than anyone could have imagine. Fans are left wondering who will live and who will die when the episode ends.
