New Comedy Pilot for ‘Scream Queens’ Nasim Pedrad Focuses on a Middle Eastern Family

Fox has ordered a pilot for the single-cam comedy Chad: An American Boy…with Scream Queens‘ Nasim Pedrad playing the title character.
Per Fox, Chad: An American Boy is about “a 14 year old boy in the throes of adolescence [who] is tasked with being the man of the house, which leaves him with all the responsibilities of being an adult without any of the perks.”
“I’m thrilled to be able to portray a Middle Eastern family not working for or against Jack Bauer on network TV,” said Pedrad in a statement. “Also, a big thank you to Fox for understanding that my true essence is that of an awkward and misguided 14-year-old boy.”
The pilot was written by Pedrad and New Girl writer Rob Rosell. Michael Rotenberg (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) and Dave Becky (Real Husbands of Hollywood, Broad City) are attached as non-writing executive producers. Jason Winer (Modern Family) will executive produce/direct the pilot.
Chad: An American Boy comes from 20th Century Fox Television.
