Fox adds another power player to its already strong cast for 24: Legacy, the spinoff/reboot of Kiefer Sutherland’s 24.

Jimmy Smits is the latest to join the developing pilot as John Donovan, a U.S. Senator with great ambitions. Miranda Otto (Homeland) has also been cast as his wife, Rebecca Ingram, a former head of the counter-terrorism unit. Corey Hawkins (The Walking Dead) was the first to be cast in the lead role, as former Army Ranger Eric Carter, while Teddy Sears (The Flash) just joined as Keith Mullins, the current head of the CTU.

Smits was last seen in the final three seasons of Sons of Anarchy and he’s currently finishing Baz Lurhman’s Netflix series, The Get Down.
