‘Chicago Med’: Should the Law Dictate How Lives Are Saved? (VIDEO)
It’s like an episode of Law & Order on this week’s Chicago Med when legal issues affect two of the hospital’s caregivers.
Nurse Lockwood (Marlyne Barrett) must decide whether to follow hospital protocol or a cop’s order when she’s asked to draw blood from an injured patient (who may have been driving under the influence) without his permission. If she refuses by citing hospital rules, she’ll be carted off to jail. It’s a good thing that hospital administrator Sharon Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson) has a good friend on the force. Watch an exclusive clip of the tense standoff below. (Handcuffs are involved.)

In other Med news, Dr. Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) still has legal problems of his own dealing with the pending lawsuit against him for reviving a patient with a DNR order—against hospital regulations. That’s not going so well, either.
