Admit it: Despite all the great TV out there, if you’re a fan of exciting drama with high emotional stakes that keeps you on the edge of your seat, the pickings have been slim since Breaking Bad ended in 2013. AMC has been looking for its next “Important Show” since Mad Men ended, and they may be able to check both boxes with Feed The Beast, which debuts on Sunday, June 5.

In the latest extended trailer for the show, we see friends Tommy (David Schwimmer) and Dion (Jim Sturgess), both with checkered pasts that include drug use (Dion), hitting the bottle (Tommy), and losing the love of his life (Tommy again), attempt to open the restaurant of their dreams in the Bronx. To do that, however, they have to get in bed with all sorts of unsavory characters, including a “businessman” (Michael Gladis) who speaks softly but will literally pull a person’s teeth to get what he wants.

The trailer looks like the show is full of action, not scenes of Tommy and Dion chopping shallots, which we’re happy to see. Let’s hope that Schwimmer and Sturgess are a match for what looks to be an action-packed series.

Feed The Beast, Series Premiere, Sunday, June 5, 10/9c, AMC.
