‘Killing Reagan’: First Look at Tim Matheson and Cynthia Nixon as Ron and Nancy
The 1981 assassination attempt on President Ronald Reagan is tattooed on the minds of the folks who sat riveted to their televisions watching the day unfold, wondering if the recently-inaugurated Reagan was going to be OK. With the recent news that the shooter, John Hinckley Jr., has been released for good from the mental hospital where he’s spent the last 35 years, the incident is as relevant as ever.

On Sunday October 16, National Geographic Channel will air Killing Reagan, a movie based on the bestselling book by Bill O’Reilly and Martin Dugard, which will examine the paths Reagan and Hinckley took to get to that point on March 30, 1981. Tim Matheson plays Ronald Reagan, and Cynthia Nixon plays First Lady Nancy Reagan; Kyle More plays Hinckley.
