‘Quantico’: Alex Gets Recruited By the CIA in Season 2
Say goodbye to Quantico and hello to the Farm. In Season 2 of the ABC drama, the action moves to the CIA’s training facility as disgraced FBI agent Alex Parrish (Priyanka Chopra) is recruited by the Agency. “When we return, Alex is on her way to being an analyst at the CIA,” says executive producer Josh Safran. But, he promises with a laugh, “it’s unlikely that our season will consist of Alex in a basement.”

The new setting comes with a largely overhauled cast, though some of last year’s crew—including Alex’s boyfriend, Ryan (Jake McLaughlin)—will appear. Among her new colleagues are Owen Hall (Blair Underwood), an instructor who helps Alex learn the ropes of her new job, and Harry Doyle (Being Human’s Russell Tovey), an agent who specializes in manipulation.
And while the flash-forward storytelling format will return, one hallmark of Quantico’s freshman year will be MIA: the soap. “If [the tone of] Season 1 was Grey’s Anatomy, Season 2 is tipping toward Homeland,” says Safran. “There are lots of moral gray areas, as in sometimes you have to do bad to do good.”
Quantico, Season Premiere, Sunday, September 25, 10/9c, ABC.
