Meet ‘American Idol’s Top 10 — Did the Right People Go Home? (PHOTOS)
On Monday night, American Idol unveiled its Top 10 contestants for Season 17 after an intense round of results.
The singers performed on Sunday and seven of the remaining 14 were confirmed safe on Monday, while the other seven fought for their spot in the coveted Top 10. All contestants performed, with some celebrating victory and others fighting for their life in the competition.
The seven contestants guaranteed a spot in the Top 10 were: Walker Burroughs, Laci Kaye Booth, Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon, Laine Hardy, Wade Cota, Alejandro Aranda, and Madison VanDenburg. The rest — Evelyn Cormier, Ashley Hess, Riley Thompson, Uche, Dimitrius Graham, Alyssa Raghu, and Eddie Island — all performed to impress the panel of judges who would determine their fate.
Ultimately, each judge chose one singer to continue on into the Top 10. Lionel Richie selected Uche as his save pick, Luke Bryan granted Dimitrius Graham another chance, and Katy Perry gave Alyssa Raghu extended time to impress viewers by selecting the 17-year-old. Riley Thompson, Evelyn Cormier, Eddie Island, and Ashley Hess then said goodbye to the Idol stage as they exited the competition.
