A decade and a half ago, The WB blindsided both the cast and the fans of Angel by abruptly canceling the neo-noir Buffy the Vampire Slayer spin-off, leaving the writers with no time or budget to bring it to a satisfying conclusion. Fan petitions and campaigns to save the show proved futile, and the fifth and final season ended on May 19, 2004.

But you’ll be able to see at least some of the cast together again, in honor of the 20th anniversary. Charisma Carpenter (Cordelia), James Marsters (Spike), J. August Richards (Gunn), Alexis Denisof (Wesley), and Amy Acker (Fred) have all announced they will be attending New York Comic Con in October.
