Sara Diggle

Before Flashpoint, Diggle (David Ramsey) and Lyla (Audrey Marie Anderson) had a daughter they named Sara after Sara Lance’s (Caity Lotz) death in Season 3. But after Barry (Grant Gustin) changed the past, they had a son, JJ (whom we’ll be meeting in the flashforwards in Season 8). But we can’t help but miss Sara Diggle and would love to see her again in some way (perhaps on another Earth?) in the final episodes.

Lyla (Audrey Marie Anderson)

Since Diggle and Lyla have yet to adopt Bronze Tiger’s son, it’s more likely than not that we’ll see her in the final episodes (though whether that will be in the present and/or future is still a question mark).

Manu Bennett as Slade Wilson/Deathstroke in Arrow - 'Deathstroke Returns'
Cate Cameron/The CW

Slade Wilson (Manu Bennett)

Considering how important he is in Oliver’s (Stephen Amell) history, it would only be fitting to see Slade again, especially with Moira (Thompson), whom he killed, returning. (Seeing those two in a scene together again would probably be asking too much.) We’ve seen Slade fight by Oliver’s side once again after his Mirakuru-induced rage in Season 2, and the final episodes would be the perfect time to see that one more time.

Sara Lance (Caity Lotz)

Yes, we’ll more than likely see Sara working with Oliver and the rest of the team in the crossover, “Crisis on Infinite Earths,” but she was an Arrow character first before moving over to Legends of Tomorrow. It would only be fitting to see her pop up in an Arrow episode outside that event before the end.

Colin Salmon as Walter Steele in Arrow - 'Year's End'
Cate Cameron/The CW

Walter Steele (Colin Salmon)

Walter is Oliver and Thea’s (Willa Holland) stepfather, but we haven’t seen him on-screen since Season 2 and he’s only been mentioned a couple times since. Figuring out how to fit him into the final season storyline might be difficult, but it would be nice to see what he thinks of the man Oliver has become and his family.

Joe Dinicol as Rory Regan in Arrow - Vigilante
Diyah Pera/The CW

Rory Regan (Joe Dinicol)

We briefly saw Rory on the 150th episode documentary, but his mask was in Chimera’s lair, so his fate is unknown. And wouldn’t it be interesting to see what this newbie thinks of what the team has become since he left in Season 5? Last we’d heard, his rags had lost their powers, but Chimera having his mask suggested something might have changed.

Jessica De Gouw as Helena Bertinelli in the 'Muse of Fire' episode of Arrow
Jack Rowand/The CW

Helena Bertinelli (Jessica De Gouw)

Helena hasn’t been seen since Season 2, but she has been mentioned a few times. And her mask was found in Chimera’s lair in the 150th episode, though her whereabouts were unknown. At the very least, the series should tell us if she’s alive.

Roy Harper (Colton Haynes)

Haynes isn’t returning as a series regular for Season 8, but we hope we at least see him in one more episode. After all, we do still have questions about his self-exile to Lian Yu and his and Thea’s relationship, plus he was an important (and very loyal) member of the team.

Willa Holland as Thea Queen/Speedy in Arrow - 'The Thanatos Guild'
Shane Harvey/The CW

Thea Queen (Willa Holland)

We still don’t know what happened between her and Roy in the years between the present and future timelines of Season 7. We also don’t know if she’s still alive in the future. It’s hard to imagine the series ending or whatever Oliver’s ultimate fate after the Crisis is happening without him seeing his sister at least one more time.

Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards)

Rickards announced she wouldn’t be returning for Season 8 in April, and the Season 7 finale did write her character out in such a way that it could serve as a final goodbye. Still, it wouldn’t be the same if the series ended without Felicity, Olicity, and OTA, and it’s hard to imagine Arrow having a happy ending — at least for Oliver, without something off-screen — without her around.

Arrow‘s final season is going to feature at least several blasts from the past, with a few returns already announced.

We know that Colin Donnell, Josh Segarra, Susanna Thompson, and Rila Fukushima will all be in the final episodes, and the trailer from Comic-Con already offered a look at Donnell and Segarra’s returns.

But there are still several other characters we hope to see at some point before the end of the series. Click through the gallery above to see TV Insider’s picks.
