Best Lines of the Week (November 27-December 3): ‘This Is My Hero Moment’
Whether your favorite TV show came to an end this week (The Undoing, The Walking Dead: World Beyond) or kicked off a new season (Euphoria, SEAL Team), there were many moments on our screens that truly showcased emotion.
A large theme seemed to be relationships, human connection and the gratifying realities of life, so no matter what point your program of choice is at, there’s a good chance it brought some warmth into your heart.

– Mrs. Coulter (Ruth Wilson), during a tense meeting with aeronaut Lee Scoresby (Lin-Manuel Miranda) while he’s imprisoned by the Magisterium, about the whereabouts of her daughter Lyra (Dafne Keen).
Who Wants To Be A Millionaire (ABC)
“I’m no Regis – we all know that. God, I wish I was, but, David Chang, your metallic testicles just won you a million dollars for charity.”
– In perfect Jimmy Kimmel fashion, the Millionaire host announces Chef David Chang’s history-defining win of $1,000,000 on the celebrity version of the game show.
Euphoria (HBO Max)
“You gotta believe in the poetry, the value of two people sitting in a diner on Christmas Eve talking about life, addition, and loss.”
– Ali (Colman Domingo) counsels Rue (Zendaya) as her Narcotics Anonymous sponsor near the end of Euphoria’s first special episode intended to bridge Seasons 1 and 2. (The episode dropped three days earlier than expected on HBO Max, surprising fans.)
Grey’s Anatomy (ABC)
“Dancing ’til you drop, laughing ’til you cry, food and textures, the crunch of cereal as you eat it out of the box, the feel of clean sheets and a good pillow at the end of a long day.”
– George O’Malley (T.R. Knight) was the latest familiar face to greet Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) on the beach in her dreams, where he tells her what he misses the most about being alive.
A Teacher (FX on Hulu)
Clare: “How can you even look at me?”
Matt: “Because I love you.”
– Clare (Kate Mara) finally admits to her husband (Ashley Zukerman) that she is having an affair with her student, and, surprisingly, he takes it better than expected.
Bob’s Burgers (Fox)
“I’m going to put my seat so far back I start a fight with the person behind me and then make mom beat ‘em up.”
– Gene (Eugene Mirman) explains his big plans for going on an airplane for the first time.
The Walking Dead: World Beyond (AMC)
“No! This is my hero moment.”
– All at once, Silas (Hal Cumpston) stood up to Percy (Ted Sutherland) and Elton (Nicolas Cantu), sliced his hand open, and took his chance to surrender.
American Housewife (ABC)
Taylor: “I have a boyfriend!”
Andre: “Oh my God, I do, too…. I don’t know why I just said that. I don’t. I’m straight.”
– Taylor (Meg Donnelly) finally confesses to her TA Andre (Chibuikem Uche) that she has a boyfriend, which stops Andre in his tracks and leaves him flustered.
The Undoing (HBO)
Henry: “You murdered a person, Dad.”
Jonathan: “Not the real me. Not the dad you know.”
– After the killer is revealed in the series finale of The Undoing, Henry (Noah Jupe) confronts his father (Hugh Grant), who is equally ashamed as he is in denial of his actions.
SEAL Team (CBS)
Thirty Mike: “It’s too quiet, man. I hate the waiting around part.”
Sonny: “Take a nap. It would be good to give that mouth of yours a rest.”
– Sonny (AJ Buckley) is quick to shut down Thirty Mike’s (Tim Chiou) whining while armed and waiting for action.
