Josie and Kelton were married at Tennessee’s Cove Lake State Bark overlooking the Great Smoky Mountains. The mountains hold special significance to the couple and were a part of Kelton’s courtship proposal to Josie.
The wedding of Josie Bates and Kelton Balka was officiated by Mike Fox and Pastor Gil Bates.
The beautiful bride is 19 years old and her groom is 23.
For the couple’s dream engagement, Kelton took Josie to Utah’s Arches National Park and proposed on June 19, 2018.
Josie admits to being one of the shiest of the Bates kids, but on her wedding day, her joyful smile outshines the sun.
Josie’s romanic boho chic wedding gown was designed by Leanne Marshall.
Josie and Kelton introduced Josie’s older sister Tori to her (now) husband Bobby. Bobby is Kelton’s best friend!
Josie is the 10th of Gil and Kelly Jo Bates’ 19 children and the 6th of their children to get married.

Love is in the air, and on Friday, October 5, reality star Josie Bates wed fiancé Kelton Balka in a gorgeous outdoor ceremony at Cove Lake State Park in Tennessee, overlooking the Great Smoky Mountains.
The romance of the happy couple has been chronicled on UPTV’s reality series, Bringing Up Bates, and TV Insider had an exclusive interview with the sweet bride-to-be in June 2018, mere weeks before her engagement to Balka. Fans have fallen in love with the couple’s sweet story, from friendship to courtship to engagement.
The 19-year-old bride styled herself in a gorgeous, boho chic Leanne Marshall gown with a crown of greenery in her hair. The bridesmaids wore individually-styled custom Renee Miller gowns, and the groomsmen wore burgundy floral ties with suspenders.
The ceremony was officiated by Mike Fox and Pastor Gil Bates, the bride’s proud father, and was attended by the Bates family, their family and friends — including Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar and several of their children.
Several of Josie’s siblings were involved in the ceremony, including Josie’s sisters Erin, who played the piano, and Tori, who played the violin. Tori’s December 2017 winter wonderland wedding was the subject of several episodes of Bringing Up Bates plus a 2018 wedding special. Tori and her husband Bobby Smith will welcome their first child in November.
