6 Burning Questions for ‘Chicago P.D.’ After That Shocking Season 8 Finale
[Warning: The below contains MAJOR spoilers for the Chicago P.D. Season 8 finale, “The Other Side.”]
We went into the Chicago P.D. finale not knowing if Officer Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) would live or die after she was attacked, and we left it…wondering the same thing. But that’s not all that went down in the shocking hour.
Sergeant Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) threw everything that had been said about police reform and not doing things the Voight way out the window in his attempt to locate his missing officer, and his face-off with the perpetrator ends with Detective Hailey Upton (Tracy Spiridakos) trying to talk her boss into bringing him in and doing what’s right. But when the perp reaches for Voight’s gun, she must take the shot.
Meanwhile, Detective Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) and Officer Kevin Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins) found Burgess, bleeding after getting shot, and rushed her to the hospital. Officer Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger), as much as he wanted to be involved in the search, looked after Burgess’ daughter Makayla and waited for news.
Oh, and Upton, upon arriving home after what went down with Voight and the perp, proposed to her boyfriend and partner Halstead.
