Jewels Lead to a Puzzling Mystery in ‘Crossword Mysteries: Proposing Murder’ (PHOTOS)

A treasure buried for more than 70 years is at the heart of a shocking and puzzling murder in Crossword Mysteries: Proposing Murder, a new original premiering Sunday, October 13 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.

Frequent Hallmark Channel Original co-stars Lacey Chabert and Brennan Elliott are reunited onscreen in the second installment of the Crossword Mysteries franchise, which was co-created by New York Times puzzle editor and creator Will Shortz, who also serves as puzzle master for NPR’s Weekend Edition.  John Kapelos and Barbara Niven also star.

When an old friend of New York Sentinel Crosswords editor Tess Harper (Chabert) is found murdered on the very day the Sentinel’s crossword puzzle includes his proposal of marriage, Tess unofficially teams up with Detective Logan O’Connor (Elliott) to find the killer.  Together, they must assemble the pieces of a puzzle whose origins go all the way back to WWII Europe.
