Katherine Langford Goes Medieval for Netflix’s ‘Cursed’ (PHOTOS)
Your next fantasy series addiction is on its way with Netflix’s adaptation of the New York Times bestselling book Cursed.
The re-imagination of the Arthurian legend is slated to arrive on the streaming platform this summer. The medieval tale is told through the eyes of Nimue, played by 13 Reasons Why‘s Katherine Langford. As a young woman bestowed with a mysterious gift, she’s destined to become Lady of the Lake, a powerful and tragic figure.
Following her mother’s death, Nimue finds an unexpected partner in Arthur (Devon Terrell) and joins him in his quest to deliver Merlin’s (Gustaf Skarsgard) sword. Throughout the journey, she will become a symbol of rebellion against the Red Paladins and their King Uther (Sebastian Armesto). The coming-of-age-story will be presented in 10 hour-long episodes with an exact premiere date yet to be announced.
The series is based on the book by Tom Wheeler and Frank Miller, and Wheeler serves as showrunner as well as an executive producer alongside Miller and Leila Gerstein. Silenn Thomas co-executive produces and Alex Boden serves as a producer. The cast includes Langford, Terrell, Armesto, Skarsgard, Daniel Sharman, Matt Stokoe, Lily Newmark, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Emily Coates, Billy Jenkins, Bella Dayne and Peter Mullan.
