It's not just (super)heroes saving the world anymore—on the latest DC show, Legends of Tomorrow, good guys and not-so-good guys are teaming up to take down the ultimate big bad: immortal villain Vandal Savage (Casper Crump), last seen in The Flash-Arrow crossover. To right the course of history, the disparate team (composed of characters first seen on either The Flash or Arrow) must learn how to get along while traveling back-and-forth through time, with Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) as their guide. Check out a roundup of the latest team racing against time. So get ready to time travel!

Captain Rip Hunter
Played by:Arthur DarvillFirst seen on: DC's Legends of Tomorrow
The confident and mysterious Time Master knows that he can't save the world alone, so he pilots a timeship (the Waverider) to go back in time and put together a team with a wide range of compassion and moral compasses. Although his motives for stopping Vandal Savage from controlling and destroying the world seem pure, it's hard to know what Hunter's true agenda might be.

Hawkman (Carter Hall) and Hawkgirl (Kendra Saunders)
Played by: Falk Hentschel and Ciara RenéeFirst seen on: The Flash
Soulmates since ancient Egypt, when Carter was a prince and Kendra was a warrior priestess, the lovers were first killed by a jealous Savage with a weapon forged from a special extraterrestrial metal. This caused Savage to become immortal and the couple to be reincarnated over and over again, constantly drawn together, no matter the distance. Although they eventually become Hawkman and Hawkgirl, they're destined to be hunted down and killed by Savage. So far, the couple have died 206 times....

Atom (Raymond "Ray" Palmer)
Played by: Brandon RouthFirst seen on: Arrow
The business mogul-turned-vigilante started out as the CEO of Palmer Technologies, which took over Queen Consolidated. After acquiring dwarf star alloy and using all resources available to him, Palmer created the A.T.O.M. exosuit, which was strong enough to withstand bullets and able to shrink to a miniature size. He then became a crime-fighting vigilante in Star City and was presumed dead after an explosion...but, in reality, he was actually captured by Damien Darhk.

Firestorm (Jefferson "Jax" Jackson and Professor Martin Stein)
Played by: Franz Drameh and Victor GarberFirst seen on: The Flash
After the S.T.A.R. Labs accident accidentally fused Ronnie Raymond (Robbie Amell) and Professor Stein into one nuclear entity with a dual consciousness. Firestorm had the ability to fire up (literally) and fly, with the younger man taking on the outer form and the professor acting as a guiding voice. But after Firestorm saved Central City from the singularity, Ronnie died and left Professor Stein in an unstable state...until he found a compatible partner in former high school basketball star Jax.

White Canary (Sara Lance)
Played by: Caity LotzFirst seen on: Arrow
Sara Lance was the younger sister of Laurel (Katie Cassidy) and a Leagues of Assassins-trained vigilante known as The Canary. After she was killed by Thea Queen (Willa Holland), Laurel followed in Sara's footsteps and became the Black Canary. But Sara was later resurrected through the Lazarus Pit, which caused her personality to change...though not enough to stop her from becoming the White Canary.

Captain Cold (Leonard Snart)
Played by: Wentworth MillerFirst seen on: The Flash
A cold, calculating and cutthroat thief, Snart became Captain Cold after acquiring Cisco's stolen cold gun, which releases icy liquid that immediately freezes. Eventually, through various encounters with The Flash, Snart acquired a (slightly) softer and moral side...which led him to keep the Scarlet Speedster's true identity a secret. But his motives don't always stay on the right side of the law.

Heat Wave (Mick Rory)
Played by:Dominic PurcellFirst seen on: The Flash
Captain Cold's friend and frequent accomplice is the explosive, hotheaded and short-fused Heat Wave. A perfect fiery complement to the icy Snart, the violent criminal's heat gun is essentially a tricked-out flamethrower. Although Rory retained his selfishness and ambivalence at helping others on The Flash, his loyalty to Snart means he (reluctantly) joins the good guys.
