‘Instinct’ Reveals the Sleeping Beauty Killer — Who Will Be His Next Victim? (PHOTOS)
Jasmine (Sharon Leal)
We have to put Jasmine on the list simply because she’s the lieutenant at the precinct. (However, that’s also why she’s the least likely to be targeted; it’s really her only connection to the case.) Plus, we saw her back in the field with Lizzie in “Go Figure,” which was out of the norm and might just be checking off an item on the list of things to do with the character before her death.
Lizzie (Bojana Novakovic)
Lizzie hasn’t been part of the Sleeping Beauty case to this point; while Dylan’s gone off to work it with Ryan, she’s been focusing on the cases-of-the-week. But since she is the female lead, we could see her becoming a target, though admittedly it doesn’t seem very likely.
Andy (Daniel Ings)
Poor Andy is on this list simply because he’s Dylan’s husband and targeting him would hurt Dylan. Plus, the men are about to adopt a baby, so Andy’s death would be especially tragic now. That being said, we can’t see the show killing him off.
Margaret Stock (Leslie Hendrix)
We’re hoping we didn’t meet Ryan’s mother and have that fun interaction between her and Dylan only for Cormac to decide to hit Ryan where it would hurt most with his next victim. But we can’t rule out the possibility, unfortunately.
Fucci (Danny Mastrogiorgio)
The only reason we can really see Fucci being targeted and possibly killed is to make it personal for the team. After all, he is the one who has been working the case with Ryan, which could be enough to put him in the crosshairs.
Dylan (Alan Cumming)
Obviously Instinct is never going to kill off Dylan, but we could see him being put in danger due to his work — and eagerness to work on — this case. Plus, he did just tell Andy in Episode 7 that he never wants to scare him like he did as a spy ever again, especially with their baby on the way.
Ryan (Travis Van Winkle)
It appears that it’s all going to come down to a final standoff between Ryan and Cormac, given their past. Could that include Cormac trying to make Ryan his latest — or last — victim? Yes.
Candace Rego (Rebecca Faulkenberry)
Cormac has already killed his own father. What’s to stop him from killing his sister next? Plus, she’s in the guest cast for Episode 9, “Manhunt,” the logline for which reads, “It’s all hands on deck to track down the Sleeping Beauty Killer when Ryan and Dylan’s biggest lead in the case takes them to a faceoff aboard a ship.”

Dylan (Alan Cumming) and Ryan (Travis Van Winkle) figure out who the Sleeping Beauty Killer in Sunday’s second episode of Instinct. But by the time they do, he’s already on his way back to New York — and likely to his next victim.
The two men head to Nebraska, where the serial killer case began, in “Go Figure,” and they not only meet with Ryan’s old partner and mother, they also meet with the first victim’s family. They begin to look at possible suspects in Garfield, but it’s after Dylan’s conversation with Lizzie (Bojana Novakovic) and Ryan looks through his mother’s photo album that they identify the killer: Cormac Rego (Michael Rady), the first victim’s son.
Unlike the rest of the town, Cormac seems to have moved on and hasn’t been damaged by Rego’s murder or the factory closing, Dylan realizes. And Ryan finds a photo of him and Cormac as children, with a cowboy blanket — as found with the victims — as a tent.
Cormac’s already back in New York by that time, and now, we’re wondering who he might target next. Click through the gallery above for our picks for who might be his next victim (which is not to say he will kill one of them), from least to most likely.
