‘Magnum P.I.’ Begins Season 3 With a Traditional Hawaiian Blessing (PHOTOS)
Production has begun on another of CBS’ scripted procedurals for the 2020-2021 season.
Magnum P.I. kicked off its third season with a traditional Hawaiian blessing in honor of its host’s culture in Kapolei, Oahu on Wednesday. The safety protocols in place for the ceremony were consistent with the ones set for filming.
Participants included stars Jay Hernandez, Perdita Weeks, Zachary Knighton, Stephen Hill, and Amy Hill, the producers, and the entire crew. Kahu (Officiant) Kordell Kekoa officiated. The ceremony featured traditional royal maile leis, Oli Aloha (welcoming chant), and Pule Ho’oku’u (closing prayer). For Season 3, “the ceremony centered around the connections which the number three represents with the past, present and future, as well as togetherness, completeness as a team, and moving forward as a family,” the network shared.

Though CBS didn’t announce a premiere date yet, it is hopeful that new episodes will start airing in November. With filming beginning, they may be on track for just that.
