‘NCIS’ Season 18 Finale Promo Teases a Major Bishop & Torres Moment (VIDEO)
Is history about to repeat itself on NCIS? The promo for the Season 18 finale has us wondering about one agent’s future…and a certain kiss also reminds us of a farewell between two characters back in Season 11.
In “Rule 91,” the team is shocked when Bishop (Emily Wickersham) is implicated in an old NSA leak while they’re pursuing a dangerous arms dealer. (Is this linked to her behavior lately, which more than one person has noted is a bit strange?) Meanwhile, Gibbs (Mark Harmon), still indefinitely suspended from the agency, and investigative reporter Marcie (Pam Dawber) realize the killer they’re tracking may be onto them. The photos tease both storylines, while the promo is very much about what’s going in with Bishop — and has us wondering if NCIS is about to say goodbye to another cast member, even temporarily.
While Bishop maintains her innocence, it looks like there’s quite a bit of trouble heading her way — especially with the shootout in the preview! “What’s rule 91?” Bishop asks (presumably) Gibbs. “When you decide to walk away, don’t look back,” he says. He’s also painting Rule 91 on the boat he’s currently building in the basement. Could Bishop end up getting away from whatever she’s caught up in in that boat in the finale?
Perhaps most surprising is that this video seems to reveal that NCIS is finally going there with Bishop and Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) by spoiling a kiss. (What did come of their Talk a couple of episodes ago?!) But, as fans will recall, another will-they-won’t-they couple, Tony (Michael Weatherly) and Ziva (Cote de Pablo) shared a kiss in what was, at the time, her final episode in Season 11.
“This is the season where we understand where it all will fall,” Valderrama previously told TV Insider about Torres and Bishop’s relationship. “The writers have done a beautiful love letter to the fans that have been wanting to know and understand more about [them].”
As for the season finale, he promised it will “absolutely blow everyone out of the water. It is absolutely the season finale that the fans deserve and I promise you there will be absolutely no way anybody can predict what’s going to happen. … The writers did an incredible episode to pay tribute to all the questions that people had from Season 17 to 18 and then really kick off the 19th season.” And yes, there will be a “major” cliffhanger.
