‘Riverdale’ Season 5: See KJ Apa, Camila Mendes & More Behind the Scenes (PHOTOS)
The Riverdale cast is back on set and hard at work on its upcoming fifth season.
And while some of the premiere was filmed prior to production shutting down in March in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, there’s still a lot of the high school-set episodes left to complete. In fact, in addition to sharing a sneak peek at the prom scenes filmed last spring, executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa has offered a look at the first scene shot for Season 5.

Camila Mendes shared a look at KJ Apa on set in this Instagram story from September 28.
On September 23, Apa shared a video with Mendes of the “new normal” on set: “washing our mouths before every take of a make-out scene.”
“Back w bae,” Madelaine Petsch wrote alongside a photo of her and Morgan, giving fans of favorite couple “Choni” a glimpse at the actors on set together on September 15.
Vanessa Morgan shared a selfie from her trailer on her first day back on September 14.
The show’s official Twitter account shared this look at Casey Cott back on set, wearing a mask per COVID-19 protocols, on September 14.
“And I’m baaaaack,” Marisol Nichols wrote alongside this photo on Twitter on September 28. (Nichols will be exiting the CW drama this season.)
“First scene up of Season 5: Archie in a steam room. Even in a Covid world, some things never change,” executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa teased on September 14 alongside this glimpse at the new footage being filmed.
At the end of the second week of filming on September 25, Aguirre-Sacasa shared this sneak peek at a “priceless scene” of “Betty with a knife, Reggie in leather, and Cheryl in a wig.”
On September 16, Aguirre-Sacasa shared a look at an homage to the Julian doll on set (along with a close-up), with a thanks to Petsch and her co-conspirators.
